Central Security Committee meets to review election-related security

Kathmandu : The Central Security Committee met today to review the security situation in the lead up to the near-coming election of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly.

The meeting held on Wednesday at the Ministry of Home Affairs under the chairmanship of Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand discussed various aspects of the security arrangements in ensuring that November 20 elections are held in free, fair and peaceful manner.

On the occasion, Heads of the security agencies shared about the security-related challenges of the election and sought a strategy to address them.

The security coordination division of the Ministry of Home Affairs submitted a proposal to hold a province-level security conference on the matter and seek ways to resolve them.

In the meeting, Home Minister Khand directed the entire home administration and security agencies to follow the election code of conduct prepared by the Election Commission.

A team with representatives of the Ministry and all four security agencies has prepared a special election security plan, which is the basis for the security agencies and the district administration office are preparing for the election.
