Kathmandu, Sept 10: Visiting Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi, has called on NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today.
During the meeting held at the Hotel Marriot, Chairman Dahal and Wang discussed wide range of issues surrounding Nepal-China relations. Following the meeting, Chairman Dahal informed the media that they discussed how time-honored ties between the two countries could be further strengthened in the present context.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang is currently on a three-day official visit to Nepal. He arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday at the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali.
Dahal, also the former Prime Minister, said, “We discussed the prospect of Chinese government and its people’s support to Nepal’s development endeavors and about Nepal’s expectation from its northern neighbour.” He further said the meeting also dwelt on the expanding the areas of cooperation and collaboration between the two countries.
Moreover, topic about the potential visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping was also broached and discussed in the meeting. Dahal added, “I found the Chinese Foreign Minister positive and enthusiastic towards Nepal’s overall development. I am confident that Sino-Nepal ties would further consolidate in future.”
Dahal was all confidence that China’s support for Nepal’s economic practice would provide an impetus.
In addition, both the leaders, as Dahal shared, talked how the ties between CPN and Chinese Communist Party could be further strengthened.
