Stating that the Gandaki state government has shown interest in the hospital reform, Chief Minister Gurung has been inspecting the hospital several times for its improvement, said KB Ranamagar, chairman of the Dhawalagiri Hospital Management Committee.

According to Magar, Chief Minister Gurung had inspected the oxygen plant, ICU and surgical ward of the hospital. Chief Minister Gurung also took information from the CCTV footage by observing the condition of the patients in isolation and ICU patients admitted at the hospital due to corona infection.

The hospital management committee had informed the Chief Minister about the shortage of manpower to run the ICU room to its full capacity, upgrading the three-bed ICU to five beds and demanding budget for the purchase of oxygen filling equipment.

The hospital, which initially kept the corona infected patients, has been admitting only those who show symptoms as the pressure of the infected has been increasing lately.

The hospital currently has three ICUs, two ventilators and a 25-bed isolation room. The Gandaki state government is working towards building a 200-bed sub-provincial hospital at Baglung, said Chief Minister Gurung.
