Dhangadhi, Aug 15: Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province, Kamal Bahadur Shah, has secured the trust vote on Wednesday.
The proposal he submitted for confidence motion in the Provincial Assembly meeting was welcomed with majority of votes in his favour.
Speaker Bhim Bahadur Bhandari shared that in the proposal made by CM Shah, he got 36 votes in his favour, which was the majority of votes from among the Province Assembly members present in the meeting.
There were 45 Assembly members in the meeting. Eight of them voted against CM Shah while stayed neutral. Independent member Dr Tara Joshi stayed idle in voting.
Nepali Congress, CPN UML, and Nagarik Unmukti Party cast votes for CM Shah. Similarly, six members of CPN (Maoist Centre) and one of RPP were absent in meeting.
Earlier, in his proposal for trust motion, CM Shah viewed time had come for all sides’ efforts for prosperity and development in the province. All political parties and lawmakers’ unity was essential to this end, he underlined.
CM Shah further said, “Partisan interest does not count for political stability and prosperity.”
Parliamentary party leader of major opposition Maoist Centre, Man Bahadur Dhami, viewed his party would play a constructive role by staying in opposition.
He suggested the government that it ran development works in a proportional manner.
