Chinese Foreign Minister Wang meets NC President Deuba



            Kathmandu, Sept 10: Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on the President of the major opposition party Nepali Congress (NC), Sher Bahadur Deuba, today.

            Foreign affairs expert close to Deuba, Dr Dinesh Bhattarai, told the National News Agency (RSS) that during the meeting, the two discussed on wide range of issues as mutual interests and cooperation.

            On the occasion, President Deuba, also the former Prime Minister, commended the Chinese support to Nepal in the sector of physical infrastructures and anticipated more such support in future.

            Stating that such visits and meetings could further augment the bilateral relations, Deuba reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment towards One-China Policy and reassured the visiting Chinese Foreign Minister that Nepal would not allow its soil to be used for any anti-Chinese activities.

            Deuba has also expressed interest about the prospects of the Chinese President’s visit to Nepal to which Chinese Foreign Minister Wang replied that the visit of Chinese President will take place in appropriate time, shared Dr Bhattarai.

            Present in the meeting were NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, NC Vice-President Bimalendra Nidhi.             Chinese Foreign Minister Wang arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday for a three-day official visit to Nepal at the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali.
