Kathmandu, June 3: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has lodged a corruption case in a Special Court against 14 people, including Mayor Gajendra Maharjan of Godawari Municipality, Lalitpur, alleging that there was corruption during the excavation of stones from stone quarries in Lele and Nallu.
CIAA has filed a corruption case against 4 employees and 9 crusher operators including Mayor Maharjan.
A charge sheet with a demand of Rs 1.04 billion fine against them has been submitted to the Special Court.
The Authority has submitted 5 separate cases on Monday on the allegation of irregularity in the stone quarries of Lele and Nallu.
