CIB arrests one more in connection with HyperFund scam



Kathmandu, June 13: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested one more person over his alleged connection in the HyperFund scam to which Nepalis at home and abroad have allegedly lost millions of rupees.

According to CIB Spokesperson and Information Officer, Superintendent of Police, Hobindra Bogati, the second person arrested over the scam is Srikant Bhandari and he was apprehended from Rukum on Wednesday.

Earlier, the CIB apprehended one Nanu Ghimire aka Kajal from Lalitpur over the alleged involvement in duping Nepalis in the scam. To date, the CIB has received complaints from 56 people of fraud over Rs 79.5 million to the scam.

As the CIB says, it has been preparing to issue a red corner notice through Interpol against those against whom complaints have been filed by the alleged victims.

CIB has appealed to those being subjected to the scam to register a complaint at the CIB. It has also provided an online space for the registration of the complaint.
