Kathmandu, Aug 21: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has taken statements from former Prime Ministers Madhav Kumar Nepal and Dr Baburam Bhattarai on Sunday night in the case of Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar and the embezzlement of government land.

It is not clear where the CIB took the statement to the Prime Ministers. The CIB took the statement after being heavily criticized for not taking a statement from the Prime Minister.

Without taking a statement from Nepal and Bhattarai, the CIB had prepared to submit a report to the district attorney’s office on Sunday about the Lalita land case. The  CIB took the statement before submitting the report after it was criticized that it would be contrary to the order of the Supreme Court.

In a tweet today, Dr Bhattarai has admitted that he had recorded his statement to CIB according to his public committment.

According to sources, the CIB has prepared to submit a report to the district attorney’s office on Monday.

In it’s order the Supreme Court had clearly mentioned that even the decision makers must be investigated in this case.

However, both the leaders have repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, and challenged to prove their guilt.
