Conflict resolution on government’s priority: CM Acharya

Arghakhanchi, Jan 27: Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Chet Narayan Acharya, has said that the government has given priority to conflict resolution.

In a discussions programme with the families of police personnel who died in the line of duty and with the Disabled Police Personnel Association Lumbini Province Committee here today, he said the federal government was carrying out programmes to carry forward the work related to reparation while the provincial government was carrying out programmes giving priority to the treatment and entrepreneurship of the conflict victims.

The government is working to erase the wounds of the conflict forever. In order to solve this problem legally, the government has passed a bill and taken it to the implementation stage.

To solve this problem legally, the government has also passed the bill and taken it to the implementation stage,” Chief Minister Acharya said, adding that since the establishment of the province, skill-based training has been conducted for the benefit of the conflict victims and to provide free treatment to them and their family members.

He said the federal government was working to solve the problems of the conflict victims and the government was also trying to move ahead with the formation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission on the basis of consensus.

On the occasion, Founder President and Patron of the Association’s Lumbini Province Committee, Nawaraj Shrestha and Treasurer Hari Sunar handed over a memorandum to Chief Minister Acharya. The memorandum includes topics related to reparation to the conflict survivors.
