Coronavirus infection ruled out in Sindhupalchowk

Sindhupalchowk: Though viral infection has gripped Gumbagaun of Jugal rural municipality in Sindhupalchowk district, it being coronavirus infection has been ruled out.

Chief at the District Health Office, Durga Dutta Chapagain, said that they have been carrying out study from Tuesday and there is no infection of coronavirus as there was no presence and movement of anybody in the district from China.

Health assistants working at health centres of the rural municipality have been assigned and they have started carrying out treatment of the viral infection.

Chapagain said that he had got information that out of those suffering from viral, some of them have returned home after treatment. He added that they have requested the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, Teku, for the test of the viral infection and the Division is to send a team soon for the same.

Chairperson of Jugal rural municipality, Hom Narayan Shrestha, has now reached there with a team of doctors. Out of 150 locals suffering from viral, 10 have returned home after treatment and condition of one is critical, said Chairperson Shrestha.

The rural municipality has also sent a letter to the Ministry of Health and Population for the help, saying symptoms of viral infection taking place in the rural municipality is similar to coronavirus. —
