KATHMANDU, Dec 26: The country recorded a total of 500 new cases of the coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. The new cases of the virus were reported from 5,434 RT-PCR tests.
With this, the total number of infected ones reached 257,700 in the country.
Likewise, Kathmandu Valley witnessed 267 new cases of the virus during the period. Kathmandu reported 209 new cases of the coronavirus infection, Lalitpur 42 and Bhaktapur 16 in the past 24 hours.
According to the Ministry, a total of 840 infected people returned home after their recovery from the coronavirus.
It is said that the number of reported active cases in the country is 6,749 and the recovery rate from the virus is 96.7 per cent.
Similarly, three more persons succumbed to the virus in the country taking a total death toll 1819.
