Country reports 534 new cases, death toll reached 1,856

KATHMANDU, Dec 31: The country has recorded a total of 534 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

A total of 6,000 TR-PCR tests were conducted across the country. With the latest data, the coronavirus tally in the country reached 260,593.

The Ministry stated that 247 new cases of the virus infection were confirmed in the Kathmandu Valley in the past 24 hours. Among them, 103 are females and 144 males.

Similarly, 447 infected ones got recovery from the virus in the latest update. So far, altogether 225,359 people got recovery from the Covid-19.

At present, the country has 6,378 active reported cases. Of them, 362 are in quarantine facilities. Across the country, 236 infected ones are receiving treatment in ICU and 36 others in ventilators.

Likewise, the Ministry stated that nine more people died of the virus infection across the country in the past 24 hours.

With this, the total number of fatalities caused due to Covid-19 reached 1,856.
