COVID-19: 1,801 new cases, 24 deaths

KATHMANDU: A total of 1,801 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country in the past 24 hours.

This was revealed in 11,326 samples that were tested through RT-PCR and Antigen method in various laboratories across the country.

This takes the total number of infections reported in the country to 748,981 through RT-PCR method and 80,462 through Antigen method.

Likewise, during the same period 1924 people recovered from the Corona Virus infection, taking the total recoveries to 700,097. The recovery rate stands at 93.5 per cent.

Meanwhile, 24 people succumbed to COVID-19 today. This takes the COVID-19 death toll to 10,533 in the country. The case fatality rate is 1.5 per cent.

The number of active cases of COVID-19 is 38,351 with 35,132 in home isolation and 3219 in institutional isolation. Of them, 679 people are admitted to the ICU while 176 are with ventilator support.

Likewise, 12,344 people were vaccinated today, taking the total number of fully vaccinated people in the country to 3,857,598 where as 4,943,732 have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
