COVID-19: Country records new 2,474 cases, 24 died in 24 hours



KATHMANDU: The coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 2,474 people in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the healty system has performed 7,235 samples of RT-PCR and 4,997 antigens test.

In the last 24 hours, another 24 people have died while 2,518 have recovered from the coronavirus infection. The total number of coronavirus infections in Nepal has reached 629,431 so far. Out of which 570,958 have been recovered and 8,918 have died.

Currently, there are 49,555 active infected people across the country. Of them, 46,502 are in home isolation and 3,053 are in institutional isolation. According to the ministry, 736 people are currently undergoing treatment in the ICUs and 207 in the ventilator across the country.

In the last 24 hours, 397 people have been infected in Province 1, 95 in Province 2, 716 in Bagmati and 218 in Gandaki Province. Similarly, 116 people have been infected with the coronavirus in Lumbini, 17 in Karnali and 18 in the Sudurpaschim Province.

The country has inoculated 2,500,196 people first dose while 731,653 people received second dose.

Meanwhile, Unilever Nepal Limited (UNL) has handed over medical supplies (Oxygen Concentrators, N95 Masks, Surgical Masks, Protective Googles, Disposable Gloves) to the Ministry of Health and Population.
