CPN UML exits Sudurpaschim Province government

Dhangadhi, July 4: In the wake of coalition change in the federal government, it has created an aftershock in the Sudurpaschim Province government.

The CPN UML exited the Sudurpaschim Province government by withdrawing support to Chief Minister Dirgha Bahadur Sodari.

Province Assembly member of the UML and Minister for Economic Affairs, Surendra Bahadur Pal, informed that the ministers representing the UML tendered resignation en masse and withdrew support to the Chief Minister on Thursday.

Pal further said they dropped their resignation letter at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers and informed the Chief Minister about the resignation, as the Chief Minister was out of the province.

With the exit of the UML from government, it is uncertain whether the budget brought for the coming year will be passed.

Minister Pal has however commented that the budget would not be passed. Deliberation on the budget is yet to begin.

It is said the new government would bring a new budget through ordinance.

The Sodari-government is now in imminent risk. It lost the majority needed to run the government. Sodari was elected the Chief Minister on April 18. He is currently in federal capital, Kathmandu.
