Kathmandu: The central secretariat meeting of CPN (Unified Socialist) has formed a four-member task force to work for left unity. The 45th meeting of the Central Secretariat held today at the party’s central office, Aloknagar, formed a four-member working group to work on it.

Party’s general secretary Beduram Bhusal is the coordinator of the task force along with Gangalal Tuladhar, Prakash Jwala and Bijay Poudel as members, according to spokesperson and deputy general secretary Jagannath Khatiwada.

He said that the task group will discuss and consult with the leftist forces and connect individuals and organizations for left unity.

It may be noted that there is an initiative already being taken to forge a unity between the Janata Samajwadi Party led by Upendra Yadav and the CPN (Unified Socialist) led by Madhav Kumar Nepal. Earlier, the CPN (US) had also decided to form a joint committee with CPN (Maoist Center) for party unity, but the unity process could not progress any further.
