
Kathmandu, March 17: The Government of Nepal has appointed Deepak Thapa as the new Inspector General of Nepal Police (IGP).
A cabinet meeting held on Monday at Baluwatar decided to appoint Additional Inspector General (AIG) Thapa as the 31st IGP of Nepal Police.
Announcing the decision, Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, confirmed Thapa’s appointment.
With this decision, Thapa takes charge as the chief of Nepal Police, succeeding his predecessor in the country’s top law enforcement position. Earlier, IGP Basant Kunwar had retired from the post.
The meeting also decided to appoint Dinesh Bhatta as the Executive Director of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA). #nepal #police #NDRRMA
