Kathmandu, Aug 27: Under the Community-Police Partnership Program, on Wednesday, a Dengue Awareness Program has been organized at the assembly hall of Geetamata Secondary School, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 15.
The program was jointly organized by the Community Service Forum and Community Police Service Center Swayambhu, together with the Natural History Museum, Tribhuvan University, Swayambhu.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Ruth Mueller (Institute of Tropical Medicine, Belgium), Special Guest Dr. Meghnath Dhimal (Senior Research Officer, Nepal Health Research Council), Special Guest Mr. Yuri Sagalerba (Italian Journalist), Founder Chairperson of Community Service Forum Swayambhu Mr. Hari Kharel, and Former Chairperson Mr. Amin Pandey.
In the program, Associate Professor Dr. Ishan Gautam of the Natural History Museum, Swayambhu, provided awareness training to the students and teachers of Geetamata Secondary School. He shared information on how to prevent dengue infection and the importance of adopting precautionary measures in advance. Dr. Gautam is the researcher who first identified dengue-carrying mosquitoes in Kathmandu.
These institutions, which have been playing a leading role in community service, have been conducting such initiatives continuously since last year. #nepal #dengue
