Kathmandu, Nov 6: The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday convicted Gandaki Province Assembly Member Rajib Gurung, also known as Dipak Manange, of attempted murder.
A division bench of Justices Nahakul Subedi and Tek Prasad Dhungana upheld the verdict of the then Patan High Court against Gandaki Province Assembly Member Manange.
Manange, who was elected from Manang district in the provincial assembly, also served as a former provincial minister.
The Patan High Court had initially sentenced Manange to five years in jail, a decision that was upheld by the Supreme Court.
Two decades ago, a group of gangsters led by Manange had severed the hand of another gangster named Chakre Milan. The attack occurred following disputes over contract bidding and ransom money between the two groups. #crime #nepal
