District Attorney registers case against 30 people on fake Bhutanese refugee scam



Kathmandu, May 24: The District Government Attorney’s Office (DGAO), Kathmandu, has registered a case in the Kathmandu District Court on charges of fake Bhutanese refugees scam.

The DGAO has filed a charge sheet against 30 defendants in the district court.

It has demanded to take action against them in cases of fraud, falsification of government documents, offenses against national interest and organized crime.

The case has been filed against 30 people including Congress leader and former Home Minister Bal Krishna Khan, UML leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, former State Assembly Member Angtawa Sherpa, then Secretary at Home Ministry Tek Narayan Pandey, then Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa’s security advisor Indrajit Rai.

Out of the registered cases, 16 defendants have been arrested and 14 are absconding.
