Divers found missing CTEVT vehicle, bodies of two from Sunkoshi river



Sindhuli, June 6: The vehicle carrying the CTEVT officials and the bodies of two people who fell into the Sunkoshi River at Golanjor Rural Municipality-7 Laukun of Sindhuli were found on Tuesday evening by the diving team of the Armed Police Force of Nepal.

One person is still missing and the search for him is ongoing, said the Central Spokesperson of Armed Police, Senior Superintendent of Armed Police Rajendra Khadka.

According to him, a diving team deployed under the command of Armed Police Inspector Subas Thapa from Armed Police Force Nepal Disaster Management Training School Kurintar found the vehicle and pulled it out of the river.

The armed police said that the body belonged to 57-year-old Krishna KC, the director of the administration of CTEVT, who lives in Bhanu Municipality-9 of Tanahun district, and Bhanu Paudel, a 32-year-old electrical instructor who lives in Suryodaya Municipality-5 of Ilam district.

A 56-year-old Yam Prasad Bhurtel, Director of Planning Division, who resides in Pragatinagar Municipality-7 of East Navalparasi District, is still missing. After receiving the information about the accident, Armed Police Force Nepal No. 20 Disaster Rescue Squad Sinamangal Kathmandu and a diving team from the said training school were deployed for search.

The Scorpio vehicle of state number 3-01-002 Jha 4985 (embossed number BAB 7467) fell into the Sunkoshi river on the way from Bhaktapur to Khotang on Friday, under the Ghurmi-Khurkot road section. After the accident, Krishna Chaudhary, the driver of the vehicle, was injured and managed to get out of the river by swimming himself.
