Kanchanpur, Nov 19: Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Prakash Saud, has said plans are underway to develop Dodhara Chandani point in Kanchanpur as a key economic transit hub, not only for the Sudurpaschim Province but also for the entire country.
Speaking at an event today organised by the Kanchanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Minister said the process has been already commenced for the construction of the Dodhara Chandani dry port and a four-lane cemented bridge over the Mahakali River.
“The Indian side is also undertaking the works towards Indian territory accordingly. Kanchanpur carries high potentials for economic and tourism development,” he said.
He also pledged to take initiatives for a smooth movement of people along the Banbasa ridge.
According to the Minister, efforts are underway to establish Nepal-India touristic mechanism for the planned development of this Manashkhand region.
“Likewise, the government is in touch with the Indian side to build a bridge on the Mahakali River to connect Parashuramdham in Dadeldhura to Purnagiri of India.”
Chamber president, former office bearers and the business community present in the programme apprised the Minister of border issues they are facing and issues for touristic and industrial development and others.
