Ramechhap, Aug 25: Two people died and eight others have gone missing in a landslide in Doramba-Sailung Rural Municipality-3 of Ramechhap district.
District Police Chief of Ramechhap DSP Pradeep Kumar Singh informed that the bodies of two people who died in the landslide have been recovered from the landslide. One of the dead is a child.
DSP Singh said that there was preliminary information that four houses of Tokarpur Lekhkharka were swept away in the landslide that occurred after heavy rains on Saturday night. The landslide has washed away the concrete bridge of the Dhaigaon river connecting the wards 2 and 3 of the municipality.
Singh said that there was difficulty in rescue as the road leading to the landslide village was damaged by the rain. However, a team of police personnel and Nepal Army have reached the landslide area.
Meanwhile, a bridge has also been damaged due to flood and landslide.
