Bhaktapur, Dec 15, 2019 : The Madhyapur Thimi municipality has honoured double gold medalist Mandekaji Shrestha.
A resident of ward no. 4 of the municipality, Shrestha was honoured with a cash prize of Rs. 555,555 and a letter of citation.
Shrestha had won two gold medals in the recently concluded 13th South Asian Games. He won the medal in Karate including in men’s individual Kata Category.
He was also paraded around the municipality for making the city proud in the regional sports event.
Shrestha’s coach and parents were also honoured at the programme on Saturday.
