Dr Acharya brings new book, ‘Like Water on Leaves of Taro: A Himalayan Memoir’

Kathmandu, Sept 27: Writer and researcher Dr Tulasi Acharya has brought a new book, ‘Like Water on Leaves of Taro: A Himalayan Memoir’.

The book, as a personal account, dwells on intergenerational love, loss and resilience. It straddles in the settings- both the US and Nepal.

Initially a student of English literature and gradually honing skills and building career in creative writing, Acharya also specializes in women studies and public administration. He is a recipient of the Homanath Subedi Diaspora Best Literary Award presented by the International Nepali Literary Society.

The Colorful Crow Publishing, which has published the memoir, mentions, “Acharya’s writing is driven by an unwavering passion for storytelling, cultural connection, and the written word.”

In the ‘Like Water on Leaves of Taro’, Acharya extends an invitation to readers to witness mourning as both personal and communal, grounded in ancient tradition yet deeply relevant in today’s fractured world, the Publisher added.

Similarly, writer Acharya views, “The book ruminates how fragile the life is. Although death brings despair and loss in our life, it is also the moment forcing us to build hope and resilience.

The importance of relatives, friends and relationship is further reinforced during the tragic moment. I believe the book helps readers understand such aspects of life.”

Dr Acharya has authored a dozen books ranging from short and long fictions to poems and research works on gender studies. Currently, he teaches English at South Georgia State College, USA.

The book is being released in the second week of October in the US. His first English novel was ‘Running from the Dreamland’. Acharya’s academic and creative works have already been published by the publishers, including Routledge and Lexington Books, an imprint of Bloomsbury Academic.#nepal #rss
