Kathmandu, Dec 16: Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, administered the oath of office and secrecy to Dr Mahendra Bista, the newly appointed Executive Chairperson of the Public Service Broadcasting Institution.
The Cabinet meeting held last Friday had decided to appoint Dr Bista to the position. Previously, Dr Bista served as the Executive Chairperson of Nepal Television.
The government introduced the Public Service Broadcasting Act a few months ago to manage Nepal Television and Radio Nepal under a unified framework. As per the provisions of the Act, Dr Bista has now been appointed as the Executive Chairperson of the Public Service Broadcasting Institution.
