Dr. Karki elected as President to the Nepal Medical Association

Kathmandu, Feb 8: Dr. Anil Bikram Karki has been elected as the Central President of Nepal Medical Association (NMA). Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Dhan Bahadur Ranamagar informed that Dr. Karki won with 3,537 votes.

His closest rival, Dr. Santosh Paudel, received 2,332 votes, while another candidate for the presidency, Dr. Shivji Bikram Silwal, received 190 votes.

Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh has been elected as Madhes Province Vice President, Dr. Prakash Budhathoki as Bagmati Province Vice President, Dr. Rajan Sharma as Gandaki Province Vice President and Dr. Prashant Bhatt as Sudurpaschim Province Vice President.

Earlier, Dr. Badri Rizal was elected as Senior Vice President, Dr. Bipesh Acharya as Vice President of Province No. 1, Dr. Nanda Kumari Gurung as Vice President of Lumbini Province, Dr. Keshar Bahadur Dhakal as Vice President of Karnali Province were elected unopposed.

Dr. Sanjiv Tiwari has been elected as the General Secretary. Dr. Amrit Ranjan Mishra, Dr. Kishore Karki, Dr. Smriti Mahat, Dr. Srijan Bista, Dr. Tengsu Singh Malla and Dr. Yovin Yadav have been elected as members of the association.

Treasurer Dr. Pramod Joshi, Co-Treasurer Dr. Bikrant Dhakal and Joint Secretary Dr. Lijan Maharjan were also elected unopposed.

Six thousand 292 votes were cast in the election out of a total of 12 thousand 834.
