Taplejung, Mar 1: Senior Ophthalmologist Dr. Sanduk Ruit has started surgery for cataract patients in the home district from Thursday. He informed that surgery will be performed on all people with eye problems in Fungling, Taplejung.
District-based Nepal Netrajyoti Sang in collaboration with Phungling Municipality and Seva Foundation conducted an eye camp with surgery with the technical support of Tilganga Eye Hospital, Kathmandu.
Khagendra Adhikari, the vice president of the Netrajyoti Sang, said that Dr. Ruit arrived here in Fungling to carry out eye treatment of the local people. Dr Ruit will perform surgery of 98 patients who have been recommended for surgery from different villages.
The eye camp will last for three days.
According to Adhikari, eye examination and treatment is currently being done at the Dichen Dongla Memorial Eye Treatment Center run by Netrajyoti Sangh Taplejung.
The technical team of Tilganga Eye Hospital has arrived for the eye examination.
