EC finalizes 537 polling centres for by-election

            Kathmandu, Oct 11 : The Election Commission has determined 537 polling centres at 247 places for coming by-election. The by-election has been scheduled at November 30.

            A press statement issued by EC Spokesperson Girija Sharma here on Friday reads that there would be 537 polling centres at 247 places of concerned constituency areas of 37 districts.

            The election is taking place for 52 posts–one House of Representatives, three State Assembly members, one municipality mayor, three rural municipality chairpersons, one rural municipality vice-chair and 43 ward chairs of rural municipality and municipalities on November 30.

            The EC had on October 10 approved the final name list of voters for the by-election.

            There are total 454,114 voters for the by-election. Of them, 233,402 are female, 220,710 are male and the remaining two are third gender.
