Eight COVID patients die while undergoing treatment in Pokhara

POKHARA: Eight more people have died in Gandaki State due to coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.

According to Gandaki State Coronavirus Control and Prevention Program spokesperson Dr Binod Bindu Sharma, a total of eight infected people, including five from Kaski, one each from Parbat, Dang and Rupandehi, have been admitted to various hospitals in Pokhara.

According to Dr Sharma, a 77-year-old man of Pokhara Metropolitan City-16 died on Saturday. He had been living in home isolation after the coronavirus infection was confirmed recently.

He said that a 58-year-old woman of Pokhara Metropolitan City-26 died at Manipal Teaching Hospital on Saturday. She was confirmed infected.

Similarly, a 73-year-old woman of Pokhara Metropolitan City-16 and a woman of Ward No. 10 died while undergoing treatment at Mediplus Hospital on Saturday, Dr Sharma said. The infection was confirmed in a 73-year-old woman and in an underage woman.

A 54-year-old man of Pokhara Metropolitan City-19 died at Gandaki Medical College on Saturday night, according to the hospital.

Likewise, a 76-year-old woman of Kushma Municipality-5 of Parbat died on Saturday while undergoing treatment at Gandaki Medical College, Pokhara, according to the hospital.

Similarly, a 43-year-old man of Rapti-5 of Dang died at Gandaki Medical College, Pokhara on Saturday.

Likewise, a 75-year-old man of Butwal Sub-Metropolis-3 of Rupandehi died at Mediplus Hospital, Pokhara at 10.30 am on Sunday, according to the hospital.
