Kathmandu, Jan 11: The District Court, Kathmandu has handed down an eight-year jail sentence to cricketer Sandip Lamichhane, after finding him guilty of rape. Lamichhane has also been ordered for Rs 500 thousand in fine and compensation.
Judge Sishiraj Dhakal had issued the verdict earlier on December 29 proving Lamichhane a convict of rape case- raping ‘Gaushala 26’. The sentence was announced today.
After a complaint was filed against Lamichhane for raping a minor on September 6, 2022, he was arrested from Tribhuvan International Airport on October 6, 2022. #Nepal
