Factionalism does not exist in UML: Chairman Oli

Kathmandu, Jan 7: Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that there are no separate factions in the UML and all ‘comrades’ are the torchbearers in the party.

Making his speech at the concluding session of the party’s central committee meeting on Tuesday, Chairman Oli announced that there are no separate groups of former Marxist Leninist (ML), former Maoists and others.

Chairman Oli asked the party leaders not to contemplate on the past by looking for the past factions.

“There are no any former groups in UML now. We have to look for the UML of the present, not the former factions. Let’s work for an aggressive UML,” he said.

Oli argued that the UML is not a status-quoist force but is a revolutionary one adding that his party’s goal was to establish socialism, and Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.

Likewise, Chairman Oli asked the party leaders to fight against the internal and external encirclement against the UML and work for the country’s welfare.

Healthy and constructive criticisms were welcome in the party but anarchy and groupism in the name of democracy to destroy the party were not accepted.

Reiterating that the current ruling coalition of the UML and Nepali Congress was formed for nation’s stability and prosperity, PM Oli said that the current government would work for the cause of the country and people.

He shared that he was working by considering the destination of socialism adding that this was not merely a journey from one election to the next.

In his speech, Oli asked the party leaders and cadres to intensify the use of social networking sites to publicize the best practices.
