
Kathmandu, March 20: The Fifth Nepal-Japan Neurosurgical Conference has begun here from today. The conference held in the form of ‘functional neurosurgery workshop’ would run for three days.
The conference is organized by Neuro Foundation Nepal and Tokyo Women’s Medical University in partnership with the Nepalese Society of Neurosurgeons and Annapurna Neurological Institute and Allied Sciences where doctors and scientists of Nepal, Canada and Iran working in neurosurgery sector have been participating.
More than 60 scientists have been presenting working papers in the event. Shedding light about the conference, Chairperson of Neuro Foundation Nepal Dr Basanta Panta said, “Treatment of Parkinson’s, neuromotor disorder and different types of mental health problems is done in functional neurosurgery. The conference has been organized focusing on this topic.
Sharing that the number of neurosurgeons was very minimal around 20 years ago where there was no development of technology used in the health sector including MRI in Nepal, Dr Panta mentioned now the number of neurosurgeon has reached 120 in the country.#nepal #political #rss
