Pokhara, Feb 15: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, and Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City, Dhanraj Acharya, who received burn injuries during a programme here, have been medevaced to Kathmandu.
They received burn injuries when fire cracker sparkle burst the balloons during the inauguration of Visit Pokhara Year, 2025.
After inaugurating the programme, Paudel and Acharya were ready to release the balloons which accidentally contacted the nearby sparkles of electric crackers.
In the incident, Mayor Acharya got injury in face, while DPM Paudel also received burn in both hands and face.
Initially rushed to local health facility, Gandaki Medical College Teaching Hospital, they have been airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment at Kirtipur Burn Hospital, according to Baina Bahadur Adhikari Chhetri, UML Chair in Kaski District. #nepal #finance #injury
