Finance Minister Paudel urges to propose implementable plans

Bishnu Prasad Paudel

Kathmandu, March 27: The Finance Ministry has held discussions with the leadership and officials of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation regarding the annual budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

During the discussion meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel urged the officials to prioritize policy transformation rather than seeking a huge volume of the budget.

He added that the budget allocation should be to ensure intergovernmental relations and partnership as well as the handover of programmes and projects of the federal government as per the role and responsibilities of the province and local governments.

Paudel opined that federalism will not be institutionalized if the jobs of the province and local governments were carried from the federal government. Likewise, he asked the officials to review all the programmes and projects of the ministry while asking the officials to focus on federal projects and reframe them in the changed context.

The Finance Minister also urged the officials of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation not to include the projects that are of less than Rs 30 million in budget size and asked the officials to be objective.

Finance Minister Paudel added that a disciplined and realistic budget would be released to meet the aspirations of the people and needs of the nation while considering the available means and resources.#nepal #finance #rss
