Kathmandu, Sept 11: A delegation led by President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, met with Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha on Monday.
During the meeting, President Dhakal pointed out the need to boost the morale of private sector to improve country’s economy.
Reminding that the private sector has 81 per cent of total share in country’s economy, he laid emphasis on the need of creating environment where the private sector could carry out its activities with respect.
The FNCCI President expressed the view that both central bank and government have role to keep country’s economy moving.
Responding to DPM Shrestha’s concerns, President Dhakal added, “We have been asking the government for hierarchy of the private sector. It will play significant role in present situation.
Similarly, Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha shared that work on this matter is underway and decision in this regard would be made soon.
Likewise, FNCCI President Dhakal stressed that the Home Ministry should pay special attention to control illegal import and export taking place at bordering areas.
The delegation urged DPM Shrestha for the resumption of quarantine established at Gauriphanta in Kailali district.
The delegation comprising FNCCI office-bearers and Province Presidents suggested that the government should bring special programmes for the operation of newly-constructed Pokhara Airport and Gautam Buddha International Airport.
DPM Shrestha shared that the government was preparing to hold discussions with stakeholders to improve economy.
