‘Food sovereignty crucial for dignified living of citizens’

Kathmandu : CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the issues of saving human life were vital than that of the physical development.

At an interaction programme on ‘campaign against hunger, food sovereignty’ organised by All Nepal Peasants’ Federation on the occasion of World Food Day on Sunday, Chairman Nepal stated that food sovereignty was crucial for the dignified living of the citizens, which is stated in the Constitution of Nepal.

Chairman Nepal, who is also the former Prime Minister, said country’s existing situation would not be changed with the entire development of agriculture sector of the country.

On the occasion, he said classification of land, systematic irrigation system, growth in production and productivity, improved seeds, modern farming system and mechanization of agriculture was the need of the hour.
