Foreign Minister Dr Rana visiting India on Sunday

Kathmandu, Aug. 17: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba is visiting India from Sunday at the invitation of her Indian counterpart Dr S. Jaishankar.

Issuing a press release today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Minister Dr Rana will hold a meeting with Minister of External Affairs of India Dr Jaishankar and discuss matters of mutual interest for further strengthening Nepal-India relations and promoting cooperation.

The Ministry hoped that as part of the regular exchange of high-level visits between Nepal and India, this visit would further consolidate the age-old, deep, and multifaceted bilateral relations.

Minister Dr Rana is scheduled to return home on August 22, the Ministry stated.

Meanwhile, in a separate statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs of India has said that the visit of Foreign Minister Dr Rana is in keeping with the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between India and Nepal.

“Nepal is a priority partner of India in its Neighbourhood First policy. The forthcoming visit will provide both sides an opportunity to discuss and review the progress in bilateral cooperation and help in advancing our ties further,” the statement reads.
