Kathmandu, June 14: Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal departed for Beijing on Sunday for a four-day official visit to China at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Khanal will hold bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart on further strengthening Nepal-China relations and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest. He is also scheduled to meet other senior Chinese officials during his stay.
As part of his visit, Khanal will participate in an investment conference organized by the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing to promote foreign investment in Nepal. He is also expected to hold interactions with Chinese entrepreneurs and business leaders to encourage investment and economic cooperation.
The Nepali Embassy in Beijing will host a reception in honor of the foreign minister, during which he is scheduled to interact with members of the Nepali community residing in China.
Minister Khanal is scheduled to return to Nepal on June 17.
He recently visited India and shared Nepal’s position on border issue, trade and investment, area of cooperation, further strengthening Nepal-India relation in the changed context, among others. #nepal
