Kathmandu, Dec 6: Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal has retired from the civil service. “I have retired from active civil service job after serving about 37 years”, he wrote on social media.
The government has already recommended Mr. Paudyal as the Nepal ambassador to Canada. The parliamentary hearing committee has already approved the recommendation of the government.
With the mandatory retirement of Secretary Paudyal, Sewa Lamsal, senior Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been given the responsibility of Acting Foreign Secretary. The government is likely to appoint her as secretary.
