Kathmandu, Dec 16: Former Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolis and former minister PL Singh has passed away. Singh breathed his last this morning at his residence in Chakshibari, Thamel.
Singh, who was elected as the Mayor of Kathmandu Municipality in the 2049BS local elections, was 85 years old and had been unwell for a long time. Last year, he underwent abdominal surgery.
A close aide to the late democracy ironman Ganesh Man Singh, Singh played a significant role in Nepali Congress politics. However, disillusioned with the political environment, he later distanced himself from active politics.
In recent years, Singh had been residing at the residence of Prakash Man Singh, the son of Ganesh Man Singh and the current Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development. Singh passed away at Prakash Man Singh’s residence as well. #PLSingh #nepal #politics
