Kathmandu, Oct 19: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has reached the temple of Linga Bhairavi in Basundhara, Kathmandu today and offered pooja there.
On the occasion of Navaratri, former president Bhandari reached Linga Bhairavi temple and performed pooja this afternoon, as well as performed aarti and abhishek, said Ambika Shrestha, president of the temple.
Manoj Bahadur Shrestha, a member of the temple’s management committee, said that during Navaratri, nearly one thousand devotees daily perform pooja, aarti and abhishek.
Aaarti and Abhishek are performed in this temple during Navaratri at 7 am, 12 noon and 7 pm. Swami Bajra Bala, the priest of the temple, said that even during Navaratri, devotees from China, Vietnam, Russia, India, Mongolia, Cambodia and other countries come for darshan and worship.
The temple was established under the leadership of the famous Indian Guru Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. Although Linga Bhairavi was discussed somewhere in the past, the recently established Linga Bhairavi is the goddess of Sadhguru’s imagination. This goddess created by him considering the three goddesses of Sanatan Hinduism – Lakshmi, Saraswati and Durga as tri-shakti was built under the leadership of his organization Isha Foundation.
Sadhguru (born Jagadish Vasudev, 3 September 1957) is the founder and head of the Isha Foundation, based in Coimbatore, India.
It is said that Jaggi Basudev envisioned Linga Bhairavi by making two eyes and a nose with flowers on a rock that looks like Shivalinga at a glance.
