Butwal, March 28: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari arrived in Rupandehi on Thursday to attend various events. She is scheduled to address a dialogue program on Saturday, organized by Siddharthanagar Municipality, according to Deputy Mayor Uma Adhikari.
Former ministers and senior political leaders, including Rekha Sharma (CPN Maoist Centre), Padhma Aryal (CPN UML), and Ganga Shahi (Nepali Congress central committee member), have also been invited as speakers.
The dialogue will focus on issues, challenges, achievements, and future prospects of women in leadership, particularly in governance and public service. The event will bring together women lawmakers from the Lumbini Province Assembly, women mayors, deputy mayors, and chairs and vice-chairs of rural municipalities, along with other female representatives.
Additionally, leaders and cadres of the CPN (UML) met with Former President Bhandari at a hotel in Bhairahawa on Thursday.
