KATHMANDU: The Norvic International Hospital in Kathmandu says it has admitted former queen Komal Shah to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital after her health condition deteriorated.

Shah, as well as former king Gyanendra Shah, is suffering from Covid-19 and the couple were admitted to the hospital last week. Their only daughter, Prerana, has also been infected and hospitalised.

“She has been kept in the ICU as there were difficulties in breathing and the lack of reduction in the oxygen levels,” Norvic says, “We have given a high-flow oxygen support and there is not any other problem.”

The hospital says King Gyanendra’s condition is normal and static although he has also been given oxygen support. Prerana is better than her parents.

Former King Gyanendra and Komal recently had visited Haridwar of India for Kumbh Mela, and took part in different religious activities. In Haridwar, a large number of people were found infected with COVID-19.
