Four died in lightning struck in Rolpa, Kailali



Kathmandu, June 26: At least four people died due to lightning struck in Kailali and Rolpa district today.

According to local officials, two people died in Kailali’s Dhangadhi and Joshipur. 27-years old Shalim Chaudhary of Dhangadi-18, F village and 37-years Jayaram Dagaura of Joshipur-3 died on the spot.

However both of them were rushed to local hospital but doctors declared them dead.

Likewise, six others were injured due to the lightning struck. According to the police, the injured are Rita Katharia of Belpur, Janaki Rural Municipality-4 of Kailali, Susma Dagoura of the same village, Ram Bahadur Chaudhary of Bhajani Municipality-6, Saraswati Bhul of Ghodaghodi Municipality-9 Budeni, Paru Kathayat Khima Kathayat of the same municipality-7. The injured are being treated at various local health centers.

Meanwhile, two people were killed due to lightning in Rolpa last night.

According to the District Police Office, 22-year-old Jaita Gharti Magar and 14-year-old Gomala Gharti Magar of Dangja village in Sunchahari-3 Parigam died due to lightning.

When the incident occurred, Jaita’s husband Lokendra had gone to Baglung for work.
