Mugu, Oct 28: Four persons of a single family have been found dead at Mandu village of Chhayanath Rara Municipality-6 in Mugu district.

They are suspected to have been murdered. However, factors like who murdered them for what reasons have been unknown.

The deceased have been identified as a local resident Sridevi Bohara, 28, her 11-year-old son Manoj, nine-year-old daughter Apsara and eight-month-old son Rahar, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Thapa.

Shortly after being informed, a team of police reached the incident site which lies southeast of Gamgadhi, the district headquarters. Bodies of the deceased have been sent to the district hospital for a postmortem.

Sridevi’s spouse is abroad in connection of employment, it has been said.

Further investigations into the case are underway, said DSP Thapa. According to preliminary police investigations, on 24 October, Sridevi along with her deceased sons and daughter went to her maternal house in nearby Kotilla village to receive Dashain tika.

They returned home the following evening. They might have been murdered the same night, said the police. On 26 October, after seeing the main door of the house of Sridevi locked, the neighbours guessed that they might have gone to their farmland to collect vegetables.

Later on 27 October, they contacted her maternal relatives to know the whereabouts of her. When they were told that Sridevi left her maternal house on 25 October, the neighbours broke into her house at around 10 am today to find four of them dead, it has been said.
