Four people died, 12 injured in Dadeldhura bus accident

Dadelhura, Oct 16: Four people, including an infant, have died, and 12 others have been injured in a night bus accident in Dadelhura.

A bus (registration number Na 8 Kha 1078) belonging to Pawandut Yatayat, traveling from Mahendranagar in Kanchanpur to Purchaudi in Baitadi, met with an accident at around 11:30 PM on Tuesday night at Khasrekhan in Amargadhi Municipality-7, Dadelhura.

According to Inspector Upendra Bahadur Bam, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Dadelhura, two women, a man, and an infant died at the scene.

The deceased have been identified as 45-year-old Jayamati Bohara, 20-year-old Kamala Bohara and her infant son, and 22-year-old Sahadev Bohara, all from Purchaudi Municipality-3 in Baitadi. Twelve people were injured in the accident.

Among the injured are 24-year-old Navaraj Saud and 24-year-old Rajendra Saud from Purchaudi Municipality-7 and 6, 25-year-old Dinesh Saud from Krishnapur Municipality-4 in Kanchanpur, 21-year-old Mukunda Bohara from Alital Rural Municipality-1 in Dadelhura, 34-year-old Bimala Mehta from Marma Rural Municipality-5 in Darchula, and 65-year-old Dhanmati Saud from Krishnapur Municipality-5.

Other injured include 42-year-old Padam Bahadur Bohara from Purchaudi-8, 24-year-old bus driver Virendra Bohara, 28-year-old Navaraj Ratauki, 20-year-old Surendra Ratauki, Damodar Mahara, and Dhan Bahadur Mahara from the same area.

According to Inspector Bam, seriously injured driver Birendra Bohara has been referred to Dhangadhi for further treatment, while other injured are receiving treatment at Dadelhura Hospital. The bus reportedly fell around 350 meters off the road. Police suspect the driver fell asleep, leading to the accident. #accident #nepal
