Four projects built with Indian financial assistance handed over to Dailekh local level



Kathmandu, July 6: Four high impact community development projects (HICDPs) constructed with financial assistance from the Government of India have been handed over to the concerned local level in Dailekh district.

Prashant Kumar Sona, Second Secretary (Development Partnership & Administration), the Embassy of India, and Namraj Shahi, chief of the district coordination committee (DCC), Dailekh jointly handed over the projects.

The projects–three buildings for Shree Malika Higher Secondary School, Lalikhanda, Shree Bhairav Secondary School, Badabhairav and Shree Jagadish Secondary School, Badakhola, and a building for Shree Narayan Campus, Rampur were built with the financial assistance of Rs 108.6 million from the Government of India under the ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’. The projects that were taken up as HICDPs under an agreement between the Government of India and the Government of Nepal, were implemented through the DCC, Dailekh, the Embassy of India stated in a press release.

The projects are expected to help the students by providing them with quality educational infrastructure and create an environment conducive for good quality education in the district.

Others present on the occasion were Top Bahadur BC, chairperson of Gurans Rural Municipality, Ganesh Bahadur Thapa, chairman of Bhagawatimai Rural Municipality, Manju Kumari Sharma (Pandey), acting chairman of Mahabu Rural Municipality, Loman Sharma, mayor of Narayan Municipality, social workers, political representatives, officials of the Government of Nepal and local community leaders.

Since 2003, India has completed 480 of over 544 HICDPs in Nepal. Among these, 14 projects are in Karnali Pradesh including 4 projects in Dailekh. Additionally, the Government of India has gifted 940 ambulances and 184 school buses to various hospitals, health posts and educational institutions in Nepal on the occasion of the Independence Day and Republic Day of India. Among these, 6 ambulances have been provided to Dailekh district. RSS
