Kathmandu: Freedom Forum has been alarmed over the death of journalist Shalikram Pudashaini in a hotel of Narayangadh city in Province 3 a week back.
Originally from Nuwakot district, Pudashaini, 27, was found hanging in the Kangaroo hotel of Narayanghadh on August 5, said Freedom Forum’s representative at Province 3, Rammani Dahal, quoting District Police Office in Chitwan.
However, the relatives and media colleagues have expressed doubt on Pudashaini’s death. They are for fair investigation on his death, suspecting of ‘murder’.
A vibrant youth journalist Pudashaini was working actively, exposing irregularities and corruption via television programs. He was associated with Mountain Television. He was earlier with the News24 Television.
Freedom Forum has urged the security agency to investigate Pudashaini’s death fairly. As the relatives and media colleagues have doubted, the investigation must become fair to know whether there was any sinister factor punishing him to death, or whether it was the murder linked to his investigative reporting.
