Mahendranagar, Jan 18: Chief Minister of the Madhes Province, Satish Kumar Singh has underlined the need of further struggle for the protection of rights including federalism which were achieved on the force of Madhes movement.
In his address to a programme organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Communications and Law of the province and the Madhesi Martyr Foundation on the occasion of the 7th Madhes Movement Memorial Day in Janakpurdham today, he said the Constitution with federalism was the outcome of the Madhes movement.
He underscored the need of further struggle to consolidate the achievements yielded on the backing of Madhes movement. CM Singh complained that challenges are being created due to the compulsion to look to the federal government to manage the police administration and carry out major development projects.
He pledged that the government would leave no stone unturned to honour the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for changing the forms of governance system.
